Isn't Canadian French very different from regular French?

I've heard they were angry with the French subtitles, because it wasn't THEIR version of French.

Well, they differ in some respect in terms of their pronunciations of certain words and the kinds of slang that they use. All this is due to their cultural identity based on their geographical location.
